The funding is directed toward studying topics relevant to Hispanic community and housing.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently announced $5.5 million for Hispanic Serving Institutions, colleges, and universities dedicated to students of Latin American descent. This funding will go toward establishing research Centers of Excellence at these institutions, strengthening their capacity to conduct actionable research to address housing, economic, and environmental issues that particularly effect Hispanic communities.
“At HUD, we are proud to partner with Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) to continue to develop strong communities, build affordable housing, create job opportunities, revitalize neighborhoods, and promote homeownership,” said HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge. “The funding availability we’ve announced today will strengthen efforts for these institutions to expand opportunities for underserved communities and promote equitable community development.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That this funding helps this particular community address its unique issues at the source.
- For Secretary Fudge as she endeavors to generate fact-based development to stabilize America’s housing.
- For the HUD as they work to address America’s pervasive housing crisis.
